This past Saturday, I had the absolute honor of capturing a vibrant Trolls-themed sixth birthday party in the picturesque backyard of a newly built luxury home in Wayzata, Minnesota. With a perfect view of Lake Minnetonka, the setting was nothing short of magical. The celebration was brimming with joy, laughter, and an explosion of color that perfectly reflected the lively spirit of the Trolls world.
The Vision: A Trolls Carnival Birthday Theme
The birthday girl’s mother reached out to me a few months ago after being referred by my good friend, Gisela, with Elysian Events. She envisioned a Trolls Carnival Birthday Theme for her daughter, and Elysian Events brought that vision to life with their impeccable event design. The backyard was transformed into a Trolls wonderland, featuring a large backdrop and balloon installation under a grand tent, a mini photo op area near the bounce castle, and a stunning rainbow balloon entrance that welcomed guests with a burst of color.
Keeping Cool in Style: Apres Event Tenting
The day was sunny and warm, but Apres Event Decor and Tenting provided much-needed shade, keeping everyone cool while they enjoyed the festivities. They also supplied chairs and a stylish bar rental, where signature cocktails were served to the delight of the adult guests. The kids, on the other hand, had a blast indulging in delicious Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, a sweet treat that was perfect for the hot day.
Fun-Filled Activities for the Little Ones
As families arrived, they were greeted with an array of fun activities that kept the little ones entertained all day. Cielo Rentals set up their famous bubble house, bounce house, and soft play area, creating an exciting playground for the kids. Roma Creations added to the fun with a colorful slime station, where children could get creative with an assortment of beads and other fun items. A Touch Of Magic Entertainment brought even more magic to the event with balloon characters and toys that had the kids laughing and playing non-stop.
Special Appearances by Poppy and Branch
Of course, no Trolls birthday party would be complete without the stars of the show, Poppy and Branch, who made a special appearance courtesy of StoryBook Entertainment. They got their groove on to the Trolls playlist, danced with the kids, and even joined them on the bounce house slide, much to everyone’s delight. Poppy and Branch also took part in numerous photo ops, making memories with the birthday girl and her guests. The highlight of the day was when Poppy and Branch led the singing of “Happy Birthday,” as the birthday girl blew out six candles on her beautiful Trolls birthday party cake, masterfully designed by Queen of Cakes.
A Feast for the Senses: Delicious Catering by Chow Girls
The celebration was a delight for both the eyes and the palate. Guests savored a delicious array of hors d’oeuvres, including burrata with grilled peach on a spoon, Greek salad cups, seasonal vegetable cups, and fresh mini lobster rolls, all perfectly complemented by refreshing, freshly squeezed lemonade—catered by Chowgirls Catering.
A Birthday to Remember
By the end of the day, it was clear that this was a birthday party their daughter would never forget. Surrounded by her closest friends and family, she had the time of her life, celebrating her sixth birthday in the most magical way possible. Capturing these moments was a true joy, and I’m so grateful to have been part of such a special day.
