Interstate State Park | Fall Engagement

Engaged couple Kylee and Jake embrace at sunrise along the scenic Pothole Trail at Interstate State Park during their light and airy engagement session.

There’s something so special about starting a session before sunrise. My sister and I set out in the dark, eager to meet Kylee and Jake at Interstate State Park. This was no ordinary morning – we had an incredible couple, a beautiful location, and the perfect light all coming together. I could already feel it was going to be an unforgettable session.

When we arrived, Kylee and Jake were ready to go. They were as excited as we were, and their love of the outdoors and enthusiasm for the day ahead made everything feel effortless. Right from the beginning, their connection was obvious. I couldn’t wait to start capturing their story!

Scenic Trails and Sweet Moments on the Pothole Trail

We began our adventure on the Pothole Trail, known for its amazing rock formations and sweeping views. This spot was perfect for Kylee and Jake’s vision – light, airy, and timeless. They’d brought two outfits that fit the location beautifully, one casual and the other more dressed up, which gave their photos a blend of elegance and authenticity.

Kylee and Jake were naturals. They walked hand-in-hand, laughed easily, and were fully present with each other. It felt like they were in their element, and it showed in every shot. I loved capturing the way they looked at each other and the way they embraced, surrounded by the early morning light filtering through the trees. It was one of those mornings where everything just came together perfectly.

Lakeside Fun – Capturing Their Playful Side

After our time on the trail, we made our way to the lake by the scenic boat tour area. Kylee and Jake’s adventurous spirits really came through here – they weren’t afraid to get their feet wet or have a little fun splashing around. The lakeside setting was quiet, peaceful, and stunning. It felt like they had their own little world by the water, where they could laugh, relax, and just enjoy each other’s company.

The lake added a soft, natural backdrop to their playful moments, and I loved capturing their laughter and the way they looked at each other in these candid moments. It was a beautiful end to our session and felt like the perfect reflection of their love for the outdoors and their easygoing connection.

Shared Adventures and a Friendly Rivalry

Kylee and Jake are one of those couples who just “click.” They share so much in common, from exploring state parks to cooking and trying new restaurants together. They even have a fun football rivalry – Kylee is a dedicated Minnesota Gophers fan, and Jake is all about the Wisconsin Badgers! Their shared interests and easygoing personalities made our time together feel effortless and genuinely enjoyable.

Looking Forward to Their Wedding Day

Spending this morning with Kylee and Jake was a privilege, and now I’m even more excited for their wedding next November at The Aisling in Wisconsin. Knowing them, I can already picture a day filled with laughter, love, and beautiful moments with family and friends. It’s going to be an amazing celebration, and I can’t wait to capture every bit of it.

Interstate State Park was the perfect setting for Kylee and Jake’s engagement session, blending natural beauty with moments that felt authentic and meaningful.
