October 2022

Determined and brave is how I would describe Mya and Caleb during their engagement session. Their downtown Anoka engagement session may look like a warm autumn October day, but it was very windy. Mya was chilly in her beautiful maroon floral dress, but she looked stunning as the wind blew through her hair. It also gave them more of a reason to snuggle closer for the most adorable portraits.

Since we were working with difficult weather for most of their session, we planned for them to wear their formal attire first to capture elegant urban portraits in an area of downtown Anoka. The large buildings helped block the wind while providing tons of character, from the brick paths to the antique framed windows. Then, after a quick outfit change into warmer clothes, we headed down to the riverside to capture a romantic walk-in-the-park vibe, just like you would see in a movie. Caleb and Mya were complete naturals in front of the camera, walking and indulging in sweet conversations. They shared many moments of laughter, and in those moments, I knew they were a couple with a strong connection and love for each other. I adore so much about Caleb and Mya as a couple, from Caleb's positive energy and contagious smile to Mya's passion for maroon and luxurious nails. She is incredibly talented when it comes to fashion!

Thank you, Mya and Caleb, for being a wedding photographer’s dream couple! If you can overcome a chilly and windy engagement session with love and laughter, I know your wedding day will be AMAZING! I cannot wait to celebrate your special day!

Thank you for reading!

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT KENDRA

At home in nature. Ever-focused on beauty and the thrilling art of creation; found in the moments that leave me breathless and in awe.

If there is one thing you can learning about me is how much I enjoy serving others. My heart is the happiest when I can put a smile on someone's face or help them feel comfortable during their session. After losing my grandfather this past year, I realized he was the person who showed me how to love others. He always shared the biggest smile and had the most welcoming heart towards everyone he met. I got to experience the joy he brought to this world with his love, and that is what I strive to be like as a wife, mother, and business owner.
